Support socks for hallux valgus

Socks designed for the comfort of feet affected by hallux valgus

hallux valgus overview

Specially designed with

Tabio expertise at the service of hallux valgus

Thanks to our expertise in the world of socks, we have developed a model specifically designed for the comfort of feet affected by hallux valgus, also known as a “bunion.” Our goal: to support you in everyday life with a comfortable, discreet solution designed for the well-being of your feet.

These support socks were developed in collaboration with Dr Kuwahara, a podiatrist in Tokyo, who sees more than 6,000 new patients each year. Together, TABIO LEG LABO and Dr Kuwahara designed a sock combining textile innovation and targeted foot support.

What is hallux valgus?

Hallux valgus is a deformity of the big toe that causes it to deviate inward toward the other toes. This condition can be painful and, depending on the degree of deformity, may lead to other foot or nail problems.

A special knitting method helps correct the position of the big toe and restore its natural alignment

A toe with an inclination of up to 15 degrees can thus regain its initial position when wearing these socks.

Ordinary socks

TABIO socks

After wearing the socks and analyzing X-rays of several patients with hallux valgus, an improvement in foot alignment was observed (for deformities between 10 and 15 degrees).

We have developed a special knitting method to support and realign the big toe simply by wearing our socks.

Socks for hallux valgus are also designed to provide optimal comfort

Natural foot support while walking

In people with impaired arch function, distributing pressure on the forefoot at the base of the big toe can be difficult. The fabric is reinforced in this area to ensure better comfort while walking.

Support for the 3 points of the arch and toe

This sock supports the arch of the foot like an insole by lifting its structure.

3D knitting at the toes to reduce friction

The toe area is knitted in three dimensions to limit friction and conform to their shape for optimal comfort.

Breathable, quick-drying fabric that reduces odors

The back of the foot is knitted with Lyocell® yarn, a quick-drying material that helps reduce odors and provides excellent comfort.

Non-slip sole

A non-slip coating covers the sole to improve grip inside the shoe and ensure stable, comfortable walking.

Soft cuffs

A soft elastic cuff that does not compress the leg, ensuring comfortable support without leaving marks.

User reviews of our socks

They spread the toes without forcing them

I suffer from hallux valgus, which causes pain at the base of my big toe when I walk long distances or when I am tired. As soon as I put them on, I feel my big toe better aligned outward and my toes more separated. It is truly relieving to be able to spread them without effort. I can also distribute pressure better across each toe while walking. Their length fits sneakers easily.

Comfortable to wear for long periods

I feel like my big toes are pulled outward and I feel more stable than usual when standing or walking because I have more sole contact. They are comfortable to wear for long periods. I washed them and they came out perfectly.

“They are so stable I can’t wear other socks anymore”

I have mild hallux valgus. I used to wear five-toe socks, but these are particularly comfortable and promote better alignment of the big toe outward. The non-slip sole is very effective: they do not slip inside the shoe and provide excellent stability.
